AirCheck Texas, A State Approved and Backed Program
About The Program
This is a state approved and backed program which will allow qualified participants up to $3500 towards replacing your vehicle. If you need to replace your vehicle that has failed emissions testing or if your vehicle is 10 years old or older you may qualify!
In Order to Qualify, Your Vehicle Must Meet These Conditions:
- Have Failed an Emissions Test, and
- Have Been Registered in Your Participating County for at Least 12 Months Preceding Application
OR
- Be at Least 10 Years Old & Gasoline Powered, and
- Have Been Registered in Your Participating County for at Least 12 Months Preceding Application, and
- Passed a DPS Motor-Vehicle Safety Inspection or Safety & Emissions Inspection Within 15 Months of Application
If You and Your Vehicle Qualify, the Following Vehicle Replacement Assistance Will be Provided:
- $3000 For a Car, Current Model Year or Up To Three Model Years Old
- $3000 For a Truck, Current Model Year or Up To Two Model Years Old
- $3500 For a Hybrid Vehicle, Current or Previous Model Year
The Vehicle You Purchase Must be a Federal Tier 2 Bin 5 vehicle (see the list of cars and trucks) and Cannot Cost More Than $25,000 before tax, title, and license fees.

Dallas - Fort Worth Program Area:
Collin - Dallas - Denton - Ellis - Johnson - Kaufman - Parker - Rockwall - Tarrant
Houston - Galveston - Brazoria Program Area:
Harris - Brazoria - Fort Bend - Galveston - Montgomery
